Literature Text

'Hot Cross Buns, Hot Cross Buns,
One a penny, two a penny
Hot Cross Buns.'

As Easter roles around  in celebration of The Resurrection ,
it is not the only thing ringing in the hearts of this country.
For the aroma of cinnamon and icing mixed together also makes mouths rejoice in song.

This was no ordinary pastry; it had a history of its own.
Made by Cleopatra herself,
this cinnamon roll tantalizes anyone who gazes upon its golden sugar coating.

At the dinner table, it is the center of attraction,
as it glistens under the light it beauty.
But the climax of satisfaction it most rewardingly met,
when this prize melts between your teeth.

The next time you hear this Easter Jingle.
'Hot Cross Buns, Hot Cross Buns,
One a penny, two a penny
Hot Cross Buns.'
Try not to convince yourself,
of silly weightless excuses.
Instead treat yourself to one of the fine things of life,
like A golden Hot Cross Bun.
